Redwing Farm is a diversified vegetable farm nestled on 8 acres in Mickleton, NJ. The farm uses an array of regenerative growing practices to help build soil health and in turn reduce the need for external inputs, making the farm more sustainable. Redwing Farm follows organic practices and is currently in the process to become certified.
In additional to vegetable production, the farm has a small but growing orchard that produces a bounty of pears and apples each fall. In the coming years, this orchard will expand with a wide array of tree fruits with an emphasis on native orchard fruit.
The farm also incorporates chickens to not only produce meat and eggs but help build up the soil in future field plots. For our meat chickens, we use chicken tractors to move them across the field where they can eat seeds and bugs; in return, their droppings provide nutrients to feed soil-building microbes.
About Redwing Farm
Meet your Farmers
Vin takes care of the majority of the planning and day-to-day farming at Redwing Farm. He has several years of farming experience and a passion for learning everything there is to know about growing vegetables using sustainable and regenerative practices. He is always looking for new ways to improve the soil health on the farm; from cover cropping to chicken tractors, there is always something new to help build the soil.
Liz spends most days taking care of dogs and cats as a full-time veterinarian, but is always happy (more or less) to spend her evenings and days off weeding, watering, and otherwise acting as a second set of hands on the farm.
